Current H4 EAD Processing Time for H1B Dependents, Form I-765

Updated: Jun 18

Current processing times for H4 EAD from all USCIS service centers, including the latest service request dates for standalone I-765 applications and H4 EAD applications filed with a status change (I-539).

Refer to the initial three letters of your receipt number to identify your service center codes, and then use the following tables to determine your change of status processing time.

  • WAC/CSC: California Service Center

  • LIN/NSC: Nebraska Service Center

  • SRC/TSC: Texas Service Center

  • EAC/VSC: Vermont Service Center

  • YSC/PSC: Potomac Service Center

  • MSC/NBC: National Benefits Center

H4 EAD Processing Time (Standalone Application)

The following table shows the H4 EAD processing time for standalone I-765 applications. This data is updated frequently based on USCIS processing time. You can read about the H4 EAD application process here.

H4 EAD Processing Time (with Change of Status)

The following table shows the H4 EAD processing time filed with the H4 change of status. You can read about the concurrent filing of H4 visa and H4 EAD here.

The service request date shows when a request was made for Form I-765. It doesn't mean all applications submitted before this date are completed. Service requests can be for expedited processing, inquiries about case status, or other actions on a case.

If you think your case is taking longer than the above-mentioned processing times, you can request a case inquiry. If you have a valid reason, you can also request expedited processing for your H4 EAD. Read more about this in the next blog.

If you have a different H4 EAD filing experience, please feel free to share your timelines in the comments section below, which might be useful for others.
