In SSB interview, the selection committee looks for a candidate with average education background but higher OLQ. They neither want a great scholar to join the forces nor a weak student, they both won't be able to perform successfull in service.
So a continuous record of poor education performance will have some impact over the SSB selection. BUT if you can justify it with some logic and balance it out with strong performance / success in other field, it won't matter.
Always remember SSB wants to select a candidate with optimum OLQ to lead the troops in a high stress environment. They are not looking for researchers to invent something but a follower and a leader who can follow as well as lead at the same time.
